Costa, Pickering, Williams & Branton Move On

Sadly some of our men's senior squad are leaving the club following the end of the 2024/25 season.

Rodrigo Costa joined the club in 2013, making him a member of an exclusive club of players in English futsal to represent one club for over 10 years. Combining his Portuguese flair and tactical nous, Rodrigo was a force to be reckoned with in our men's first team from Leicestershire Futsal League level all the way to National Futsal Series, popping up with important goals and big moments. Always competitive and popping up with big goals in important moments, Rod will always be a legend of the club.

Josh Pickering joined the club in 2022, and has been our club captain since 2023. Combining his extensive football experience with a passion for futsal and willingness to learn, Picko became an important part of our men's team over the last few years, chipping in with important goals while bringing others into play as a strong back to goal pivot. His influence on and off court will be missed.

Nat Williams joined our men's team from our academy in 2019, and has gone from strength to strength as a direct and exciting wing player. Quick, physical, and with footwork good enough to put bums on seats, Nat's talents will be missed greatly by the team.

Sam Branton joined the team for the 2024/25 season during his placement year of university, having previously played in our academy and for our men's team in 2021/22. A technical fix with excellent decision making and poise on the ball, as well as a willingness to put his body on the line to defend and a feel for arriving late into the opposition's final third, Sam was a real asset to the team this year and we wish him the best in his final year in the North East.
